Family Assistant Account Deletion & Support
Family Assistant is a household organization app. This page explains how to request support or delete a Family Assistant account.
Support email: familyassistant.app@gmail.com
Delete Your Account In The App
The recommended way to delete your account is inside Family Assistant:
Household -> Account -> Delete account
The app will ask you to confirm deletion. For security, you may need to sign in again before deletion can finish.
Request Deletion If You Cannot Access The App
If you cannot access Family Assistant, email: familyassistant.app@gmail.com
Use a subject such as:
Family Assistant account deletion request
In the email, include:
- that you are requesting deletion of your Family Assistant account;
- the email address you used to sign in, if known;
- whether you used Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, if known;
- any household name or member name that can help identify the account.
Identity verification may be required before deletion is processed. Sending an email does not automatically delete the account.
What Account Deletion Removes
When deletion is completed for a normal household member, the current Family Assistant implementation deletes:
- the Firebase Authentication account;
- the account root document under users/{uid};
- account household membership mirror records;
- household user membership records linked to the account;
- linked household member records for that account;
- notification device records stored under that linked member.
After deletion, the user is signed out and the deleted account cannot be used to access Family Assistant household data.
What Shared Household Data May Remain
Family Assistant uses shared household workspaces. Shared household data may remain for other members after a normal member deletes their account.
Shared household data that may remain includes:
- groceries;
- tasks;
- events;
- reminders;
- notes and memories;
- household activity records;
- shared item history such as creator, assignee, completion, or cancellation details.
This data may remain because it belongs to the household workspace used by other household members.
Sole Owners And Shared Household Owners
If you own a household that still has other members, account deletion is blocked until ownership is transferred or the other members are removed.
If you are the sole owner and sole member of a household, Family Assistant requires explicit confirmation that the household and its household-scoped data should be deleted. If confirmed, the current server deletion flow deletes the household document tree and related household invite records.
Data That May Be Retained
Some information may remain where needed for:
- shared household continuity for remaining members;
- security and abuse prevention;
- troubleshooting and support;
- legal compliance;
- provider logs or records outside the app's direct Firestore data.
The current repository does not confirm a fixed retention period.
